As a member of the National Aviation Museum Society (NAMS), your contribution will help in the restoration and upkeep of historically significant aircraft and space-related artefacts. Continued effective support of the Museum depends on a strong national membership base. A strong base ensures appropriate contributions can be passed on to the Museum for restoration purposes.
NAMS also ensures:
- liaisons are fostered with private sector corporations related to the acquisition of aircraft;
- assistance is provided in fund-raising endeavours; and,
- the Federal Government is encouraged to provide further financial support for the Museum’s development and improvement.
In addition to supporting the preservation of Canada’s aviation and space heritage, and developing the interest of Canada’s youth in aviation and space and its history, the Museum has arranged for NAMS members to receive the same 10% discount in its retail outlet, the Ingenium Boutique, as do the Museum’s volunteers. You will receive a code with your NAMS Membership Receipt to use online at the Ingenium Boutique.
Through streamlining the NAMS administrative functions, we can now offer new and returning members the ability to pay dues and make donations through electronic transfers! We are continuing to offer traditional paper-based membership applications for those needing it.
Our revenues need to reflect the current reality of operating an organization in the 2020s; therefore, effective 2021, after more than two decades without an increase, the annual membership fee will be $25.00 for the membership year which runs from 1 January to 31 December.
Additional NAMS Membership Benefits
The Canadian Aviation Historical Society (CAHS) and NAMS have entered into a reciprocal membership agreement. The CAHS has been the leading Canadian organization dedicated to the celebration and documentation of Canada’s flying and space heritage for over five decades. Their members receive the CAHS Journal, Canada’s premier aviation history magazine, regular newsletters and invitations to participate in local and national events. Their web site and Facebook pages provide a rich source of aviation reference material, news items and aviation history articles with a Canadian focus.
NAMS members who wish to take out a new membership in CAHS will receive a $10 discount off the regular $25 membership fee for the digital version of the CAHS Journal as well as their digital newsletter.
CAHS members who wish to take out a NAMS membership will receive a $10 discount off the regular NAMS annual membership fee and in addition, will be eligible to enjoy a 10% discount in the Museum’s retail outlet, the Ingenium Boutique, as do the Museum’s volunteers.
